Ingredients:
- 1 cup Rava (Sooji/Semolina)
- 5 tbsp Ghee (Clarified Butter)
- 1/2 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/2 Cumin Seeds
- 1 tbsp Chana Dal (optional)
- 1 pinch Asafoetida
- 8-9 Curry Leaves
- 2 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 2 Green Chilli, chopped
- 1/4 cup Raosted Peanuts
- Some finely chopped Coriander Leaves (optional)
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups Water
- Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a kadai and Add Sooji in it. Roast it on low flame for 4-5 minutes. Keep stirring continuously and once done, transfer to a plate.
- Heat 3 tbsp ghee in same kadai and Add mustard seeds,cumin seeds, chana dal, asafoetida and curry leaves. Cook until dals turn light brown.
- Add chopped onion and green chillies and sauté for 1-2 minutes until onion becomes translucent. Add roasted peanuts.
- Add roasted Sooji and 2 cups of water and Stir continuously for 1-2 minutes to avoid lumps. now squeeze 1 lemon and mix it well. Upma is ready to serve garnish with some coriander leaves.
